We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Hardware/Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing hardware and desktop support to ensure the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be required to travel frequently and should be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Hardware Support:
    • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues and escalate complex problems to the appropriate team.
  2. Desktop Support:
    • Provide support for desktop operating systems, software applications, and various devices.
    • Address and resolve user queries, issues, and concerns promptly and effectively.
  3. Travel and On-site Support:
    • Travel to different office locations or client sites to provide hardware and desktop support as needed.
    • Perform on-site equipment installations, repairs, upgrades, and replacements.
  4. Equipment Handling and Transportation:
    • Safely lift, move, and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Ensure the secure and efficient transportation of hardware to different locations.
  5. Preventive Maintenance:
    • Perform routine checks and maintenance on hardware and systems to prevent issues.
    • Update and upgrade software and hardware to avoid obsolescence and ensure security.
  6. Documentation and Inventory:
    • Maintain accurate records of hardware configurations, updates, and inventory.
    • Document incident resolutions and update knowledge base for reference.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in hardware and desktop support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with network protocols and networking equipment.
  • Experience with various desktop and cloud applications.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive approach to issue resolution.

Hardware Support Technician salary range is $45,000 to $50,000.
